Recently the Center for Independent Journalism (CIJ) in Budapest organized a public show and a debate of the film "Our Telehouse," produced for broadcast by local and national television stations in Hungary and abroad.

"Our Telehouse" is a 30-minute documentary about the "telehouse" movement in Hungary. In the villages, telehouses offer access to sophisticated computer technology and trainers who can teach people to use it. Telehouses are the site of courses and programs that bring people together for new opportunities. This film examines the network of telehouses operating in Hungary.

The film was produced by the Center for Civic and Municipal Innovation, founded in 1996 by USAID. The film can be broadcast free of charge by local television stations. About 500 copies have been ordered by TV stations and local municipalities in Hungary.

CIJ Budapest said the discussion that the film generated proved useful for the local TV stations and the producers. The British Know How Fund was also represented at the discussion. The film will be distributed in the United Kingdom and in East Central Europe.
