Free visual journalism workshop open to students

Student journalists in the U.S. can participate in a free workshop.

The free student workshop, sponsored by the Society for News Design, will focus on the theme: “The 21st Century Visual Journalist: What You Need to Succeed.”

Panelists will discuss the future of visual journalism and give students advice regarding the concepts, software and storytelling skills they need to learn to succeed. Each panelist will give a 20-minute presentation on a topic related to their personal experiences and individual expertise.

Panelists include Tyson Evans of The New York Times, Ryan Mark of the Chicago Tribune and Miranda Mulligan of The Boston Globe.
