Award-winning investigative journalist, author and editorial director of the US Center for Investigative Reporting Mark Schapiro will launch the Global Environmental Journalism Initiative (GEJI) on March 18, at the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia.

GEJI is a collaborative and innovative project producing environmental journalism across nine institutions teaching journalism, four in Australia and five in Europe. The project links students in researching and reporting on environmental issues from local and global perspectives.

At the launch, Schapiro will speak on issues for journalists in reporting environmental science, among other topics.
