Health reporting internships accepting applications

Deadline:

11/29/12

Budding journalists in the United States can apply for a paid summer internship in health reporting.

The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation is seeking applicants for its 12-week internship program.

The program is designed for U.S. journalists - typically recent graduates with previous journalism experience - with a particular commitment to covering health issues affecting diverse and immigrant communities.

The program starts in June with a week-long briefing on health issues and health reporting in Washington, D.C. Interns then travel to their news organizations and work for 10 weeks, typically on the metro or health/science desk or with the daily health programming team.

The foundation covers all travel, training and accommodation costs in Washington, D.C. and Boston, but interns must provide their own housing during their placement. Interns receive a minimum of US$550 weekly.

The deadline to apply is November 29.
