International freelance, amateur and professional photographers and students, 18 to 35 years of age can enter a contest.

The Hearst 8x10 Photography Biennial is a competition to identify and promote new and emerging talent among photographers in the United States and abroad.

Eight winners, chosen every other year, will be showcased in an exhibition under the title, "8x10" in the Alexey Brodovitch Gallery and the Hearst Gallery at Hearst Tower in New York City and published in the accompanying "8x10" catalog and on www.hearst.com and www.hearst8x10.com.

Applicants may only submit one (1) entry, which may include up to 16 photographs. Sizes may vary.

The deadline for entries is August 1.
