Journalists in the U.S. can apply for a fellowship on immigration and multimedia.

The Scripps Howard Immigration training program, sponsored by the International Center for Journalists, brings 12 journalists from both Spanish- and English-language outlets for a week of training on covering immigration issues using multimedia tools.

With almost 14 million people out of work in the U.S., immigration remains a hot-button issue. During the fellowship titled "Beyond the border: Covering the Immigration Phenomenon through Digital Media," participants will learn how to cover the immigration debate using the latest technology and launch a multimedia story package. The program will emphasize accurate, engaging and responsible reporting of this issue.

The trainers are Hiram Enriquez, a partner at Webbmedia Group and Josh Hatch, a senior trainer at Webbmedia Group. Panelists will include key immigration policy makers, researchers and representatives of pro and anti-immigration groups.
