Colombian, Venezuelan and Ecuadorean journalists who live by the borders of these countries or work on border issues can apply to participate in a workshop.
The Fundación Nuevo Periodismo Iberoamericano (FNPI), UNESCO's International Programme for the Development of Communication (IPDC) and International Media Support (IMS) are offering this investigative journalism workshop on drug trafficking at the borders of Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela. The session will provide skills in special investigation, newsgathering, storytelling, networking and self-protection to journalists who work or cover the territories bordering the three countries.
Ten journalists who have developed coverage for print, radio, television or the Internet on issues related to drug trafficking will be selected to participate.
The workshop will take place in Bogota, Colombia, November 10 - 14. The course costs US$80, but participants will receive accommodation, airfare and meals.
