Journalists and photographers whose work has been featured in Brazilian media outlets can apply for this award.

The 2012 Esso Journalism Awards, organized by the Brazilian branch of ExxonMobil, gives awards in categories including general reports, photography, front-page news, newspaper and magazine design, and television journalism.

Entries must have been published or broadcast by a Brazilian news organization between August 16, 2011 and August 15, 2012.

Cash prizes include the Esso Reporting Prize of BRL10,000 (about US$5,000), the television journalism prize of BRL$20,000 (about US$10,000) and the grand prize of BRL$30,000 (about US$15,000).

The application deadline is August 15.
