Journalism contest on Belarus open [EU]

Professional and citizen journalists are invited to enter a contest on socioeconomic and/or human rights issues in Belarus.
The Belarus in Focus contest is coordinated by Solidarity with Belarus Information Office, in cooperation with the Polish Press Club. The main sponsor is the Nordic Council of Ministers. Other partners include: the European Federation of Press Clubs, Office for a Democratic Belarus, the German Marshall Fund, Civic Belarus, House of United Belarus and the Belarusian Association of Journalists.
Those entering the professional journalist category should work for a publication that publishes in one of these countries or in the international press.
The article requirements:
it should deal with with socioeconomic and/or human rights issues in Belarus following the 2010 presidential elections;
be of high journalistic quality;
not contain any xenophobic, discriminatory, or offensive statements, or be untruthful or misleading;
if the article was written in a language other than English, a translation into English should be provided, as well as the original;
submitted article must have been published between December 19, 2010 and November 15, 2011 in the European or international press
Deadline: November 15, 2011.
Winners in professional journalism category will receive EUR€2,000 (about US$2,700) and in citizen journalism category EUR€1,000 (about US$1,378).
