Journalists worldwide who have published articles in Spanish can participate in this contest.

The Fundación Mapfre is accepting entries for the González Ruano Journalism Prize.

Articles in Spanish that were published in 2012 in print newspapers or magazines are eligible.

The theme is open, but the prize will be awarded based on quality of the articles and the extent to which their themes reflect some aspect of the reality of our time.

The winner will receive a EUR€30,000 (US$38,800) cash prize.

The deadline is April 30.
