Journalism fellowship on literacy advocacy open [Canada]

Journalists, freelancers and journalism students in Canada can apply for a CA$3,000 fellowship.
ABC Life Literacy Canada is seeking applicants for its Peter Gzowski Life Literacy Fellowship. One winner will receive a grant to aid in the development, research and publication of a print, broadcast or online media story on adult literacy in Canada.
The late Peter Gzowski, journalist, broadcaster and former board member of ABC Life Literacy Canada, was a dedicated supporter of the literacy cause.
Entries will be evaluated on its focus on adult literacy, creativity, potential to raise awareness, story length and more. Applications must also include one work sample and a letter from an editor confirming support for the story.
The winner will receive a free trip to attend Life Literacy Night in Toronto in September to receive the fellowship award.
