Mid-career journalists from Latin America and the Caribbean can apply for an academic fellowship in Canada.

The Canadian Journalists for Free Expression (CJFE) in conjunction with Scotiabank offers a fellowship that aims to enhance inter-American understanding and dialogue in an academic setting.

Fellows will complete two semesters at the University of Toronto. To obtain the maximum benefit from the program, applicants agree to refrain from professional work during the fellowship, which includes a monthly stipend, travel expenses, accommodation and meals.

Applicants must have at least seven years experience as a print, broadcast or online journalist but there are no educational prerequisites. English fluency is preferred.
