Journalism fellowships to examine the impact of the financial crisis in Asia

The Honolulu-based East-West Center is accepting applications from professional journalists for the Spring 2009 Jefferson Fellowships for journalists, which will focus on "The Impact of the Global Financial Crisis in Asia."
Working print, broadcast and online journalists from the United States and the Asia Pacific region with a minimum of five years of professional experience are eligible to apply. Twelve to 14 journalists will be chosen to be fellows.
The program, which will take place May 9 to 31, 2009, will include one week of dialogue at the East-West Center in Honolulu followed by two weeks of visits to Japan, China and Hong Kong.
All program and travel costs for participants will be covered.
