Journalism instructors invited to online investigative training

Latin American and Caribbean journalism instructors can apply for a free online course that aims to train journalism professors and/or instructors in digital tools and techniques for conducting investigations. Deadline: October 18.
The course, "Digital Tools for Investigative Journalism Instructors," will take place November 2 to 29, and will cover topics including techniques of online investigations, databases, digital tools, Internet access and specialized software, government Web sites as sources, and more. It will be conducted in Spanish.
Applicants should be journalism instructors at public or private universities, and should have basic knowledge of MS Office, WinZip, Adobe Acrobat, and Explorer or another Internet browser. Participants should be able to read English, and should expect a commitment of 10 to 15 hours a week.
The course is being organized by the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas.
