Journalism workshop to examine drug trafficking coverage in Latin America

Latin American journalists have until October 7 to register for a seminar-workshop about drug trafficking and its ramifications in Mexico City from October 19 to 21.

According to Fundación Nuevo Periodismo Iberoamericano, the workshop seeks to offer a new approach to covering drug trafficking, taking into consideration social, political and cultural factors of the subject.

The organizer will select ten journalists with at least three years of experience in metro, safety and judicial coverage.

Participants must submit a published article on drug trafficking, an 800-word autobiography and a letter of recommendation.

Registration costs US$100. Participants will receive financial support for airfare, accommodation and meals.
