Journalism workshop to train in business investigations

Latin American journalists are invited to a workshop in Panama City on investigative journalism and the business world, scheduled to take place December 14 to 18. Deadline to apply: November 20.
Participating journalists will work on investigative projects about a business, group or on the economic sector during the workshop. Among topic to be discussed: signs of business corruption; how to consult a source; investigative techniques in exposing corruption, monopolies or violations against environmental or financial regulations in Latin America; and how to tell a story in an interesting way.
There are 16 spots available. Participants must send an autobiography describing their motivation to attend the course and their experience, a letter by their media employer, a business article, a project idea, and the application form. The event is being offered by Fundación Nuevo Periodismo Iberoamericano (FNPI).
General registration costs US$400, while the fee for local journalists is US$150.
