Journalists in Latin America are invited to attend an information graphics -- or "infographics" -- workshop on September 11 and 12 at the headquarters of the daily newspaper El Mercurio, in Santiago, Chile. Registration is ongoing.

The workshop, organized by the Inter American Press Association's Instituto de Prensa, aims to highlight infographics visualization tools, such as mapping and statistical tools, both in print and digital formats.

Registration costs US$600. The workshop will be led by Spanish infographics expert Alberto Cairo, a visual journalism professor at the University of North Carolina, in the United States.
