Journalists turned authors eligible for book award

Deadline:

10/1/11

Print, broadcast or digital journalists who have written full-length books can be nominated for a US$15,000 award.

The New York Library presents the Helen Bernstein Book Award for Excellence in Journalism. Factors for consideration include the book's significance, its influence on public policy and a high standard of reporting and writing.

Only books scheduled for publication from January 1 to December 31, 2011 are eligible. Works of fiction, anthologies, collections of columns, or articles are not allowed.

Books must be nominated by publishers or agents, not the authors. Nominations must submit an application form, five copies of the book, reviews and the author's bio.
