2013 Web Index seeks journalists for paid research opportunity [Worldwide]
Journalists with at least five years of experience can apply for a position.
Global Integrity and the World Wide Web Foundation seek journalists for its 2013 Web Index, the world’s first multi-dimensional measure of the Web’s use, utility and impact on people and nations.
This effort will require a global team of reporters and reviewers around the world to conduct original research and data gathering that will feed into the final 2013 Web Index.
Journalists can apply for a lead researcher role in Qatar, Finland, Namibia, Japan and New Zealand. This is a part-time role for one month between mid-May and mid-June. Additional roles for peer reviewers are available in Belgium, Denmark, UAE, Mauritius, Japan and Malaysia, among others.
A strong command of English is required. Lead researchers must be working in the country of study and be independent of government (having not served in a government position for at least three years). Both roles are compensated.
The indicators to be researched and scored for the Web Index involve some specific technical questions related to both technology, economic and social development, so knowledge of the Web, Web governance, and/or international development issues is preferred, but not absolutely necessary.
