Kazakh minister says he is committed to media reform
At a recent roundtable discussion about media legislation reform in Kazakhstan, the nation’s Minister of Culture and Information, Yermukhamet Yertysbayev, expressed his commitment to enacting media legislation in 2008 that will encourage compliance with international standards.
The discussion was held at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Centre in Astana, Kazakhstan on Feb. 25.
In attendance were government officials, members of the non-governmental sector, as well as media lawyers, journalists and other experts with an expertise in media legislation.
