'Mapping the media' Web site launched in Brazil
The Brazilian Association of Investigative Journalism (Abraji, in Portuguese) recently launched a Web site with thematic maps on Brazil with the goal of supporting the work of journalists.
The site features maps on different themes, such as Brazil's education, elections, population, media and more. Soon, the site will include maps on crime, as well as interactive maps.
The site's maps have high resolution and can be reproduced for journalistic purposes, as long as the source is cited. The site is an initiative of Abraji, Geolab and FOCAL (The Canadian Foundation for the Americas).
The initiative is part of an international project, "Mapping the Media in the Americas," which examines the relations between electoral results, demography and media in Latin America and Canada.
