Marie Colvin Scholarship for future foreign correspondents open

Aspiring foreign correspondents can apply for a scholarship.

A one-year scholarship has been started to honor Marie Colvin, the outstanding Sunday Times foreign correspondent who was killed this year on assignment in Syria.

Applicants will have practical experience of print journalism and digital media and a proven interest in foreign affairs. Candidates may be of any nationality but must have excellent English and the right to work in the UK.

The upper age limit on starting the scholarship is 26. The paid scholarship will involve working on the foreign desk and other sections. A trip overseas may also be included. The scheme runs from 1 January 2013 for a year.
