Print and broadcast journalists worldwide can send their best nontechnical reporting on biology to the Media Award 2009, held by the American Institute of Biological Sciences (AIBS). Deadline: January 15, 2009.

Applicants may submit a single contribution or a series focusing on a single topic. Stories must have been published or broadcast in English between December 16, 2007 and December 15, 2008.

The winner will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., to attend the award ceremony during the AIBS annual meeting in May 2009, as well as a cash prize of US$1,000.
