Journalists under the age of 40 with a strong knowledge of the German language can apply for this free seminar.

The Saxonian Foundation for Media Education (SSM) holds a 10-day seminar for young journalists from Central and Eastern Europe. The aim of the seminar is to give foreign journalists the opportunity to learn more about the German media and to strengthen international ties of journalists. The 2013 seminar will focus on the cultural responsibility of the media.

Candidates must work in media, have experience with the Internet and social networking. Fourteen selected participants will arrive in Leipzig from where they will make several trips. SSM will cover travel expenses, meals and lodging.

The seminar will take place Sept. 16-27 in Leipzig, Germany.

The deadline is Aug. 8.
