Middle Eastern journalists invited to apply for Inquirer Award
Deadline:
British ambassadors in the Middle East have launched an award competition to find the region's investigative reporter of the year. Journalists working for any Arabic language publication or TV station in Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine are eligible to compete in the program. Deadline: December 28.
The award, the Inquirer Award 2008, aims to find the journalist who shows the ability to examine a significant issue of relevance to the region and its people. It also includes a competition for photojournalists.
The award is funded by British government’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and managed by the Thomson Foundation. The Thomson Foundation is running a series of training workshops on investigative reporting skills for both print and television media in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine. There will also be practical training workshops for photojournalists in the participating countries.
