National Press Foundation government reporting award open

U.S. journalists can apply for a US$5,000 award for government reporting.
The National Press Foundation hosts the "Freddie" Award, recognizing the government's impact on business and economic life in America.
The cash award will be given to a piece that exemplifies originality, in-depth coverage and appreciation of economic issues at the federal and local level. Runners-up will receive smaller cash prizes.
The submissions can be from any medium and must have been published between October 1, 2010-October 1, 2011.
Along with the work sample, applicants should submit an online form, short bio and a letter of support by October 17.
