U.S.-based journalists can apply for a spot in this program in Washington.

The National Press Foundation seeks fellows for its Retirement Issues Program, designed to provide print, broadcast or online journalists with on-the-record access to leading retirement experts from the federal government, think tanks and interest groups. The workshop will take place April 7 - 10.

Topics include what to expect from social security, how younger workers should prepare for retirement, health care and long-term care, private sector retirement issues and more.

Applicants must submit an online application, statement of interest, brief bio, one letter of support and two work samples by February 11.

The workshop will allow consumer and lifestyle writers and editors, as well as editorial writers, to take away new story ideas, sources and methods. Fifteen fellowships will be awarded to qualified journalists working on any platform.
