National Press Foundation online journalism award open

Online journalists can apply for a US$2,500 award.

The National Press Foundation presents the Excellence in Online Journalism Award, open to journalists and media organizations based in the United States.

The award can be given to a website, individual or specific project that demonstrates achievement in online journalism.

Some former winners include NPR.org, the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting and PolitiFact.

Applicants must fill out an online form and submit a letter outlining the site's journalistic achievements of 2011 by October 17.
