Netherlands to host investigative journalism conference
Journalists in Europe are invited to an annual conference on investigative journalism, to be held in Utrecht from November 27 to 29.
The conference is being hosted by Vereniging van Onderzoeksjournalisten (VVOJ), an association of investigative journalists founded by Dutch and Flemish journalists in Amsterdam in 2002. The VVOJ currently has 400 members.
The association aims to improve conventional investigative methods -- accessing documents, reading annual reports and budgets, or managing sources -- and introduce new methods involving the use of information technology. The VVOJ also wants to stimulate journalists working worldwide, as well as in various mediums, to cooperate on investigative projects too large for one medium.
