The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Arab Union for News Agencies recently launched a media training facility in Beirut, Lebanon.

The Regional Media-Training Center for Journalism and News Agencies in Lebanon was launched with direct support from UNESCO’s International Programme for the Development of Communication (IPDC).

The first training seminar was attended by journalists from Lebanon and the Arab States. UNESCO hopes the center will open the door for communication in the Arab region in addition to press freedom and more pluralistic media.
