A five-week online course about reporting in high-risk situations is being offered in Spanish.

The course is organized by the Digital Journalism Center at the University of Guadalajara in Mexico and is aimed at professional and citizen journalists interested in improving their skills on working with government sources, covering corruption-related issues and reporting from unsafe places.

The goals of the course include learning how to report from dangerous environments while maintaining the highest standards of journalism ethics, developing safety protocols and designing strategies to cover sensitive topics.

The five-week course will be held from May 23 to June 19, 2011. The tuition fee for Mexican citizens is MXN1,000 and for international students US$80.The application deadline is May 20.
