Ortega y Gasset Awards calls for journalism entries in Spanish

The Ortega y Gasset Awards for Journalism are seeking works published in Spanish in any country in the world in 2009. Deadline for nominations is March 31.

The award, in its 27th edition, is sponsored by the Spanish newspaper El País, and is accepting entries in four categories: print journalism, digital, graphic and lifetime achievement. According to the sponsors, the awards will total EU€15,000 (US$20,900 approximately).

For the print category, applicants must submit two copies of their published work. For digital, an online application must be completed before submission. For graphic entries, applicants must send copies of graphic images, a CD and DVD copies and a copy of the newspaper or magazine where their work was published. And for lifetime achievement, applicants must send two copies demonstrating the nominee's merits and professional career in the media.
