Panel to discuss implications of new copyright proposals
A panel of copyright experts will discuss the implications of new proposals that place legal responsibility on those who violate copyright laws on the Internet on July 2 in the Eliot Hall at The University of Hong Kong.
Under the new copyright law, people who make copyright music and movies available on the Internet through streaming technology will face legal consequences. The proposal is part of the Chinese government’s agenda to develop stronger copyright laws in today’s digital environment.
The panel will participate in a debate about the streaming of copyright videos and music, and whether it should be considered a crime. Internet and copyright experts also will discuss other proposals included in the copyright reform.
