Proponents of free speech and academic freedom are invited to submit papers for a conference and workshop on "Rethinking Academic Freedom in East African Universities," to be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from October 21 to 23. Deadline for final proposals is October 15.

Higher education leaders, administrators, scholars and advocates will be brought together during the events to analyze and discuss issues of academic freedom and university autonomy in the region.
