Professional and amateur photographers can participate to win cash prizes.

Organized by insurance company Porto Seguro, the 2013 Prêmio Brasil Fotografia is inviting photos that bring out the diversity of approaches and reflects the history and social aesthetics of a contemporary look.

There are two categories available: series --eight to 12 photos in color or black and white-- and contemporary research --for jobs in development.

The contest is open to Brazilian photographers and foreigners who reside in Brazil. Prizes range from BRL$10,000 (about US$5,000) to BRL$40,000 (US$20,000).

The deadline is Aug. 11.
