Photographers around the world are invited to compete for the Photographers Giving Back Photo Award, aimed at highlighting injustice, catastrophes and human disasters with the intention to help and make a change for the better. Deadline: January 4, 2009.

The competition -- formally know as the Photo Award -- will award a total of US$30,000 in 12 categories. Pictures must have been taken in 2008 but do not need to have been published. Submissions can only be done online.

The winners will be announced on March 6, 2009 at Berns Salonger in Stockholm, Sweden.
