Pulitzer Center offers reporting grants [Africa]

Deadline:

10/14/11

African journalists, writers, photographers, radio and television news producers or freelancers can apply for reporting grants to cover reproductive health issues across the continent.

The Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting is seeking proposals from English-speaking African journalists to participate in a collaborative reporting project with all costs covered.

Four journalists will be chosen to work with a project leader, one journalist with strong ties to an international news organization. The team will produce a report focusing on reproductive health issues in Africa to be distributed in media outlets worldwide.

The chosen journalists will attend the International Conference on Family Planning to be held November 28 to December 3 in Senegal, as well as attend a multimedia training workshop. The reporting project will begin in early 2012.

Applicants must submit a resume, three work samples, two references, a letter from an editor and a brief description of experience with reproductive health issues and multimedia.

The deadline to apply is October 14.
