Registration open for environmental journalism workshop

Ten journalists from Colombia and six more from other Iberoamerican countries will have the opportunity to cover biodiversity in Tayrona Park in Santa Marta, Colombia. Application deadline: September 22.
The workshop, scheduled for October 15 to 18, aims to improve the coverage of protected areas, as well as to discuss themes related to biodiversity.
Registration costs US$190, which includes lodging. Scholarships and assistance are available.
The Tayrona National Park comprises 12,000 hectares in land and 3,000 in sea. It is located at 34 km from Santa Marta in Colombia’s northwest region. It was declared a nature park in 1969, to ensure the conservation of its ecosystem, according to Fundación Nuevo Periodismo Iberoamericano.
