Registration open for workshop on Colombia’s ‘Carnaval de Barranquilla’

Colombia's "Carnaval de Barranquilla" will be the topic of a writing workshop scheduled for February 11 to 16. Deadline: January 25.

The workshop will provide a space for debate and reflection on the importance of culture for the news agenda. In 2003 Colombia's Carnaval de Barranquilla was proclaimed by UNESCO as a "masterpiece of the oral and intangible heritage of humanity."

There are 14 spots for journalists who cover culture, modern life or metro for print or digital media in Latin America, Spain and Portugal.

Registration costs US$370, which includes lodging and meals. Financial aid is available for journalists from outside Colombia.

The workshop is being organized by Fundación Nuevo Periodismo Iberoamericano (FNPI).
