Journalists, editors and journalism students in Germany can participate in this contest.

Nonprofit organization n-ost announces its contest for the Best Reporting Awards. The aim of the contest is to recognize journalists and editors who tell extraordinary and original stories from Eastern Europe.

Submitted entries should have been published in the German media from January 1 to December 31, 2012. Entries are accepted in three categories: text, radio and photo/audio slideshows.

Participation in the contest is free.

The winners in each category will receive EUR2,000 each (about US$2,500).

The deadline is February 1, 2013.
