Research fellowship on press freedom open [Russia]

Researchers, journalists and activists who are citizens of the Russian Federation can apply for a fellowship in Washington.
The Galina Starovoitova Fellowship, sponsored by the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, is open to fellows to conduct research on freedom of press, human rights, civil society and other topics.
Named after human rights advocate and politician Galina Starovoitova, the program offers a US$1,700 monthly stipend, housing, transportation costs, research facilities, computer support and research assistance.
Starovoitova fellows are expected to hold public lectures on the themes of conflict resolution and human rights while conducting research on a specific topic.
In addition, fellows will actively participate in discussions with the public policy and academic communities, including giving speeches and lectures at other institutions and taking part in meetings and conferences at the Kennan Institute.
The deadline is April 26.
