Journalists in Central America and the Dominican Republic are eligible for this award.

The Consejo Agropecuario Centroamericano (CAC) announces the second edition of its Rural and Agricultural Journalism Regional Award.

The award, sponsored by the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation under the Central American Integration System, aims to promote rural development as a strategic issue and encourage those who support news coverage to re-position the sector.

Journalists residing in one of the member countries of the CAC whose publications have appeared in Central American or Dominican media (print, online, radio or television) between May 1, 2012 and April 30, 2013 can participate.

The winner will receive a personal computer, and the runner-up will receive an iPad. Three finalists will also earn special mentions and digital cameras.

The deadline is May 31.
