Scholarship for future international correspondents
Finland is hosting the Foreign Correspondents’ Program 2008 from August 1 to August 31. Young journalists between the ages of 20 and 25 from Brazil, China, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Nicaragua, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation, Slovakia, Spain, Tanzania, Turkey, the UK and the USA are invited to apply.
During the month, the students will have an opportunity to learn about and cover aspects of Finnish society and the economy. The scholarship covers the costs of travel to and from Finland, local travel in Helsinki, accommodations in a single room in a student hall of residence, and meals.

Cameroon is presently going through a period of political instability with the February strick action that put the country on a stand still for one week,the recent constitutional ammendment and the operation sparrow hawk.I think it will be very important if journalists from Cameroon could be given the opportunity to attend.
I am freelance
I am freelance reporter based in Harare, Zimbabwe. I think the scholarship should have catered for all countries especially young journalists from Zimbabwe because the country is grabbing headlines worldwide because of the harmonised Presidential elections it held on March 29 and which have produced no outright winner. The elections are heading for a run-off. We would really appreciate it if we are afforded a chance to attend and share with other young writers from across the globe our experiences regarding to this election and other issues.

Dont sideline other countries. In Malawi there will be general elections in May 2009. If young journalists from the country can attend the scholarship, it will be an added advantage. Think of Malawi.

Thanks for giving journalist such an opportunity because previous courses of such nature were self sponsored. But I am suggeting to add the age limit so that we could benefit. Lets say the age limit should be below 35. This is because when we were at the age of 25 we didn't get such opportunity. equal opportunity
