Working or aspiring photographers or photography students with a lust for adventure can submit works to a contest that will give one individual the chance to go on assignment with renowned wildlife photographer Jason Edwards to Antarctica. Deadline: October 4.

The winner will photograph the world's most remote wilderness in an 11-day assignment aboard Gap Adventure's Antarctica Classic M/S Expedition, exploring the South Shetland Islands and Antarctic Peninsula.

The scholarship recipient will receive AU$2000 (US$1,767) worth of Pentax photographic equipment.

The best photos will be published on the National Geographic Channel's website where they will be viewed by thousands of travellers worldwide.
