Science journalism competition seeks entries [US]
Deadline:
Science journalists working for U.S. media outlets can enter a competition.
The Kavli Science Journalism Awards, sponsored by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), recognize outstanding individual coverage of the sciences, engineering and mathematics.
There are eight categories available. The winner of each category will receive US$3,000 and be honored at the AAAS Annual Meeting in Vancouver, Canada. One category, “Children’s Science News,” is open to international applicants.
Last year’s winners included Charles Duhigg for his “Toxic Waters” series in The New York Times and Hillary Rosner, of High Country News for an investigation on endangered fish in the Colorado River.
