Seminar surveys health, environmental issues in East Africa
Deadline:
Experienced journalists from five East African countries can apply to participate in a regional conference, “Population, Health, and Environment: Integrated Development for East Africa.” Deadline: October 1.
The event is scheduled for November 12 to 16 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, organized by the Population Reference Bureau and funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development. The conference aims to help journalists learn the latest developments, network with colleagues and groups that tackle these issues, and produce stories for their own newsrooms.
The organizers will select 12 print and broadcast journalists from Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda. Applicants should have five to seven years of experience and a demonstrated interest in the subject matter. Participants will receive funding for travel, lodging and meals during the seminar.
