Journalists from Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Ukraine can apply for this scholarship program in the United Kingdom.

The John Smith Fellowship Programme, offered by the John Smith Memorial Trust, is an intensive three-week program on good governance, social justice and rule of law. It is aimed at the next generation of leaders with an established interest in promoting democratic reform.

The program consists of a series of thematic workshops, training sessions and meetings with prominent public and political figures in Edinburgh and London.

Applicants must be between 25 and 40 years old, working in the media, politics, local administration, business, the arts or civil society. Candidates should show an established interest in promoting democratic reform.

Applicants must have a thorough knowledge of English.

The deadline is December 31.
