Sports journalism seminar held in Ghana
The Stanbic Bank held a seminar for sports journalists this week at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, Ghana, according to the Ghanaian Chronicle. The seminar was organized in anticipation of the upcoming 26th African Cup of Nations, Africa’s soccer championship tournament. This year’s African Cup will take place from January 20 to February 10.
The aim of this week’s workshop was to train print and online journalists in sports reporting, providing them with information and resources regarding African soccer. Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee Dr Kofi Amoah discussed the need “to position media practitioners to participate fully in the Ghana 2008 tournament,” reported the Chronicle.
