Submissions sought for investigative journalism award [Worldwide]
Deadline:
Investigative journalists who have written about developing countries are eligible for this award.
The Global Shining Light Award, sponsored by the Global Investigative Journalism Network, awards a journalist, journalism team or media outlet that reported under threat, duress or difficult conditions. The winner will be awarded a plaque and US$1,000 at the Global Investigative Journalism Conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The report must have originated in and affected a developing or emerging country. It must also have been broadcast or published between April 2, 2011 and December 31, 2012. Organizations, media outlets or journalists can participate.
If the original entry is not in English, a full translation or lengthy summary of its key findings must be provided in English. If this is not available, the story will not be eligible for judging.
The deadline is June 15.
