Brazilian journalists whose work focuses on environmental issues are eligible for this award.

The Allianz Insurance Journalism Award, organized by Allianz Insurance, recognizes journalistic endeavors related to sustainability and environmental changes, as well as insurance coverage.

Entries must have been published in the press, websites, blogs or broadcast on television or radio between Sept. 1, 2012 and Aug. 30, 2013 in Brazil.

Suggested topics include deforestation, natural resources, CO2 emissions, energy sources, biofuels, biodiversity loss, waste, environmental conservation, tropical diseases, floods, droughts, heat waves and economic impacts, among others.

Winners from each of the eight categories available will receive BRL$15,000 (about US$7,500).

The application deadline is Aug. 30.
